2. Scope
This policy explains what personal data Zuvaa collects, why we collect it, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it.
3. Data We Collect
- Account data: phone number (WhatsApp), display name, timezone, locale.
- Financial data you share with us: expenses, budgets, goals, subscriptions, streak history, screenshots you upload for ingestion.
- Conversation data: messages you send to the coach, assistant replies, and associated metadata (timestamps, message IDs).
- Technical data: device/user-agent, IP address (transient), logs, error traces.
- Derived data: categorization, summaries, embeddings used by the coach.
4. How We Use Your Data
- Provide the coaching service (parse expenses, manage budgets/goals, reply on WhatsApp).
- Maintain conversation state and long-term memory for continuity.
- Improve model prompts and service quality (aggregated / de-identified where possible).
- Security, fraud prevention, and abuse monitoring.
- Comply with legal obligations.
5. Legal Bases (GDPR, where applicable)
- Performance of a contract (providing the service you signed up for).
- Legitimate interests (service security, product improvement).
- Consent (for optional features such as marketing communications and non-essential analytics).
- Legal obligation.
6. Sharing and Sub-processors
We share data only with sub-processors necessary to run the service:
- Meta / WhatsApp Business Platform — message transport.
- Model / LLM provider(s): Anthropic, OpenAI.
- Cloud infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Database / storage: Supabase (Postgres).
- Analytics / error tracking: PostHog, Sentry.
- Google Firebase Authentication — user identity and phone-number sign-in. India + US.
- Google Cloud Vertex AI (Gemini) — AI text and image understanding for expense categorisation and chat assistance. Bytes are sent for inference and are not retained for training. India + US.
- Razorpay Software Pvt. Ltd. — payment processing for premium subscriptions (premium features ship in a future release; not active in the V1 launch). India.
- LangChain LangSmith — LLM observability and trace logging (only if enabled). United States. (Will be disclosed here only while enabled in production.)

7. International Transfers
Your data is primarily stored and processed in India and the United States. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions, or equivalent safeguards entered into with our sub-processors.
8. Retention
- Conversation state and memory: retained while your account is active.
- Financial records: retained while your account is active, or as required by Indian tax / accounting law (up to 7 years).
- Logs: 90 days.
- Backups: rotated and purged within 30 days.
On account deletion, data is removed per the schedule in User Data Deletion.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, rectify, delete, port, restrict, or object to processing of your data, and to withdraw consent.

10. Security
We use encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and least-privilege credentials. No system is perfectly secure — report suspected incidents to security@zuvaa.app.
11. Children
Zuvaa is not intended for users under 16 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
12. Changes to This Policy
We will post changes here and, for material changes, notify you via WhatsApp or email.
